If-proverb

This week’s topic is “Proverb” over at Illustration Friday.

“A proverb is a short sentence based on long experience.” ~ Miguel de Cervantes

“It´s better to have a bird in the hand, than ten birds on the roof.” is a very well-used proverb in Norway, even nowadays.

My collage is a rather strange mix of vintage scarlet iris birds, red phone-booths and bowler-hats from London. Mind the Gap is also very London-ish. I wanted to use my own photos in the background, but am sure if I feel like I´ve succeeded. I´m very into the bird though..

  1. Hey Janne, now this looks like it could belong in the london underground, circa 1946. I’ve never heard that expression !! We have ‘a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush’ (“Birds’ were slang for girls here in the sixties I think – so that’s what I always think of …. hmm)

Oh it’s so hot here today 😉
