Illustration Friday´s theme this week is transport. And for once I painted my contribution.
“The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life of our souls.” Pablo Picasso
I am inspired by Brian Wallace´s exhibition-opening at Bømlo Kulturhus, and by one of my all-time favorite cartoon-movies: The Triplettes from Belleville. It´s a french movie, and just hysterical in a very low-key European humor. Using the ship from the movie, and Brian´s painting-technique, here is the result in my art-journal. It´s about 10×15 cm, and I used acrylics. I´m not sure if this type of painting fits for cartoonish shapes, but I wanted to try it anyway. My version is much kinder than in the movie. Oh, you really should see it! They sell it at Amazon.
