Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, and the lesson afterwards.

I found the quote and really, really liked it, because it is so true. Then I found this painted portrait I made an attempt at a couple of years ago in my art-journal. There are a couple of things I´d like to change on her, but since she is in my journal, I like to have some flawed ones along the way, so I can see if I improve 🙂
After seeing a beautiful theatre-show tonight about the fishermen from Karmøy (Norway) who worked outside Alaska, about them, and their loved ones waiting at home, it added another dimension to both the quote and the portrait. Originally I wrote Seapeople have waves in their hair along the side of the page, which adds to the nautic mood.
Love that!
Here is another one.
“Experience is what you get when you are expecting something else.!”
I also like this one.
” If you wait for everything to be perfect before taking a step you will spend the rest of your life standing one foot”
Hey I like Sid,
Great work as always Janne, I like how you add another dimension to an image with your overlays.
I am typing this with sand on me and a sunburnt back. My hair is like rastafarians, encrusted with salt ….:)
Oh I hate summer
looking forward to the painted puppet head
To Sid:
I think I might be pretty much living by the one you sent me. I make loads of mistakes. But I make loads of “rights” too 🙂 Can´t get one without the other… 🙂
To Andrew:
… I have no words! All that comes out are jealous grunts longing for a sunny summer! Sometimes I think you just send me a compliment, so you can tease me in the same go!
