Fiddler on the roof is approaching, and I´m not only in charge of the set-design, but also the costumes. Most of them we´ll re-use and rent, but a few of them I have to make new.
This post will contain some detailed pictures, I have them on here for the students who have to sew the shirts, so they can see part of the process.
(Opening first, shoulder-seams second, arms third…)
For the russians in the bar, I want to make some typical, almost Cossack-inspired shirts.
(The sleeve, seen from the inside.)
And seen from the outside, before it´s being sewn down.

Trying out the pattern, to see if it really works. Often a good idea before you cut the other 14….
Still need to make the lining at the bottom, sew on buttons on the neck/shoulder-opening, and on the sleeve. But it fits.

Tradition!
Creating clothing is a superior skill. While I am glad I have so few, so I might give them each a proper amount of time, I have more than once wished I could fix a favorite garment or design a Halloween Costume with my imagination and hands.
