puffy dresses

Marilyn has moved onto the stage. And since there was a press-conference today, some pictures from the show has been released. Which in turn means I can share with you some of the costumes I´ve been working on. My colleague Karin Sundvall has designed them, and they are all on the black-grey-white-scale. Photo is taken by Grete Nygaard.

These two puffy white dresses are re-sewn from original 60s wedding-dresses. Basically they are completely picked apart, and sewn together again, with some differences. I´ve added a couple of extra layers of tulle, to make the skirts stand out from the body more. It was a lot more work than I thought. No complaints though. I love my job!!!

  1. Strike a pose!

It is strange to think somebody started a life, a family, a couple of lives in one of those wedding dresses. Maybe a few generations. I wonder if their spirits get to dance on stage beside them.

    Great work.
