A raven´s cloak

For Håkonarspelet I have about 16 costumes that need to be made. And although it´s a strictly historical play from the viking era, the costumes I´m working on are more mythological. Odin and his two ravens, Hugin and Munin, along with a choir of fallen viking warriors, now residents of Valhall.

The two ravens are played by two dancers. Wearing black dresses under this cloak that I made today. You can´t really tell from the picture, but the fabric is three layers on top of each other, first the black chiffon, then purple sequins and underneath is a layer of wool for warmth and protection. Playing outdoors in Norway, even in summer, requires wool. What you´re also missing is the fun sound of swishing sequins when the dancers moves around in it :-)
