Now isn´t he cute? I never met my grandfather, Jacob, he died half a year before I was born. I made a series of pictures from this side of the family a couple of years ago, and used one of them as a starting point for this pendant. You can see the original here.
This is the little boy who 30 years later married my Grandmother who´s in the textile portrait in the post below. But her portrait is when she´s around 85, so there must be be close to 90 years between the original photos.
The pendant itself is a copy on a transparency film, cut into shape, and slit into place between two pieces of glass. As you can see in the picture, the metal opens, and holds everything in place. Now all I need is a chain to match my pendant 🙂
