Painting workshop with 6th grade

The second day of the painting workshop with the 11-year olds. I loved overhearing their conversation this morning: “How do I make brown?” ” You just mix blue and yellow and red!” or “This color isn´t the right!” “You need more yellow!” and so on. They´ve really gotten good at mixing the colors. I didn´t even tell them I had more colors in the box. They didn´t need them!

Sebastian here was a master at mixing colors, not a single paint went on his paper before being mixed with something else. Which needless to say, brought a lot of life to his background.

Sander is really good with the details, he´s looking at the shades and highlight on a viking-helmet.

Johanne made this still-life of an apple, also working with where the shade falls and where the highlights reflect.

I would NOT like to meet this mean viking in the woods on a dark night! Painted by Mikael.

After two full days of painting, there was hardly any wall-space left, it was all covered with newly painted artwork! Look at all the cool viking-ships! 🙂

I could show you so many more wonderful paintings, all 16 kids have their own personal expression. Some of them have really taken to heart what I´ve been teaching them. Now all they need is practice. I am already looking forward to meeting them again in January!
