pre-advent

Christmas is approaching, advent even more so! So today I finally got started on this years advent calendar for our baby I had this red linen cloth that I had printed a white fern heart on, thinking it would become a Christmas-sy   dish drying cloth, but re-decided, and made it into a long, slim textile bag. Now I can put all my advent-gifts in it, and the baby can use it again and again, for dirty laundry on travels, for storing shoes, or for … Christmas-stuff.

To match, I am wrapping all the gifts in red and white gift-paper. The box with the #2 on it, my sister made for me last year, and it´s being recycled this year. I LOVE advent-calendars, but I do try my best to find sustainable gifts. Small practical things that you´d need anyway. Our baby, isn´t a baby at all, but 18, and has lives in a dorm in New York, her first year away from home. And that first year, you discover you need a gazillion little things that were so practical that was just lying around the house, and now you have to get it yourself! I´m sure that came as a surprise to more than just me.
