ART-grant

I´ve got an art-grant!

I´m amazed! It´s the first time ever! I´ve applied for it, twice, but didn´t dare believe it would make it. But here we are. The Norwegian Arts Council has granted me some funding for my exhibition  “Family-life in the light-houses along the coast”  (Which is a long title, but at least quite descriptive). The thought is to let the pictures go on tour, visiting different light-houses and galleries. The good thing about that is that lots of people get to see the pictures. The bad thing is that I can´t sell any of them until the tour is finally over. Which means that funding is dearly welcome, so I don´t have to take all the expenses of materials from my own pocket.

Another aspect of this, which makes me even more happy, is that getting a grant like this, it feels like the final proof that I truly AM a real artist! It´s a recognition. By the government. Which is pretty high on the cool-scale, if you ask me! :-)

So now I am all excited about staring work with some more pictures in the series. The first show will be in Ryvarden in the beginning of May. So there´s not much time to loose!
