This is my Grandparents on my mother´s side. My Granddad died half a year before I was born, so I obviously don´t know him. But my Grandmother was one of my absolute favorite people! She died about eight years ago, but would have been 100 years in 3 days. So to celebrate her memory, the whole family is getting together. All their five children, (in the corner of the picture) with their spouses, their children with their spouses again, and their children. So that would be 3 generations. And 40 people. I´ve been so lucky to have such a fun and interesting family! So this weekend is going to be great!
The picture itself contains my grandparents, their five children, the old house (before there was a fire and they had to rebuild) The background is a door from the old house where my Grandmother grew up, which is a different house. The text is from an old document connected to the farm. The farm itself actually dates back to at least the 16th century!
They are so young and beautiful in the photo! What a lovely piece of art, honoring their roots, their strength and the family they built. Love it.
