A new picture, with almost the same title, in the same technique. Freestyle machine embroidery on white linen. Made for the Peace-festival under the theme “People fleeing” (refugees). To bring the theme closer to my own everyday world, my thought was to look at what I would flee from. This is actually a picture of a dear friend of mine, sitting in her big, cosy chair, with the kitchen in the background. We are so incredibly lucky and blessed to live where we do, now in this day and age. I don´t think anyone of us can imagine what it would be like, leaving it all behind. Would we? Could we?
What a beautiful piece, and a good thing for all of us to think about. We take so much for granted.
