Time for a new calendar-book. I guess I should make them big enough to last a whole year, but partly it´s way to fun to make a new book, and partly making them twice the size they already are… I don´t know if they´d fit i my purse!

Here´s the cover. The cotton velvet background fabric is a remnant from the reactive fabric dye class I took this spring. The girl is… I don´t know her name yet… any suggestions? The back isn´t done yet, what do you think: another girl or something else?

I think she might be a bit of a diva though 😉 I did what I usually do, adding color to her face with a fabric-marker. The fabric made the marker bleed quite a lot though, so I used acrylic paint, and painted parts of her face like that. I´ll probably keep adding to her.

The colors this time are autumn-colors. Strange option in the height of summer perhaps, but it will be used during the fall. All the colors are broken, from murky aqua to shriveling sunflower. And as always, the elastic band is WAY to long. (sigh)

Here is my old book. The one I haven´t made an elastic band for, that now really needs it. Lots of bulging going on here. And all those tidy pages above? Below you can see what a little life-in-progress can do 🙂

MAkes you want to peek inside, doesn´t it 😉 Well, you´re welcome!

One day I just might have to make an entire exhibition with all my calendar-books. And call it something like “The days of our lives” or “As time goes by” or “Add a little color = instant happiness” or something.
Hya Janne, I was visting Earth today after spending a while on Mars (uncomfortable place – the rocks are too hard) and I thought I would pop in and enjoy your work. You still have a beautiful mastery of colouir (of course) and your new girl is mysteriously sexy I think, it must be those eyes, ahh and the lips I see. I thought Lobelia was an interesting name, but that could be her stage name perhaps – Lobelia Queen of The Gypsies perhaps ? Are you well? I hope so, I have been working on another book and have not seen the light of day for a while, I don’t know why we do these things, apparently we need to fill our minds with memories so we have something to remember … see you!!
Oh I have been working on ‘cute’ … I feel ill 🙂
De bøkene dine er kjempeinnspirerende og ser så spennende ut! God sommer – håper du får sol og varme :-)S
