evening in the garden

One of the best days of the year, every year, is the first day of spring, when you can feel the promise of summer in the air. And the very best way to spend these days, every year, is outside, in the garden. Kind of sweeping winter away. Well, I didn´t do any sweeping (although that might need being done), instead I got a compost! That is, I bought my neighbour´s old one, which he didn´t use any more, and set it up in my garden. I prepped it, so now it is ready and eagerly awaiting the first load of bio-waste. We have been delivering the bio-waste for compost the whole time, but sending it off to some company to do it, is not as satisfying as doing it yourself. Not to mention all the good soil I´m gonna get! So, totally inspired by Michelle and her vegetable-garden project, next year I hope to do the same.

And then I found my black paint! And went on to paint a kidney-table my uncle made when he was in school, the inside of an old trunk I got at a flee-market last year, a small shelf I made in school, the feet on an old pouf my Grandpa made that I found in the attic. It´s oil-paint so it´s gonna need some time to dry, but I´m hoping to get them all done, with upholstery on the pouf by Thursday.
