Here is a picture I made in 2002. It is all machine embroidery on silk. I made a bigger one for a ship, about twice this size, and took me two weeks straight of machine-sowing, 6 hours a day. (Except for the face and hands and gold-background). I had to take breaks so the sowing-machine could cool down. The pedal was so hot, I burned my foot.
When I was finished, I mounted it on a thick (5 cm) solid wooden plate that I had painted black. This one is about 20 x 35 cm without the wood.
I think it is the arch-angel Michael, but I have to admit I am not sure.
