Where do I begin?!
Maybe in Michelle´s wonderfully inspiring studio.
Everywhere you look, there is inspiration!
It is filled with creations, big and small, mainly Michelle´s work, and old vintage treasures.
Talking of which…
On the way back from Artfest, we stopped at an antique-store to see if we could find some treasures to play with this week. Did we ever! I got a couple of funky things at Artfest´s vendor-night too, so we´ll see if we can have a little fun 🙂
Can you see this! It´s an antique organ stool!
Do you see the details?!!
I mean, seriously! Have you ever seen a cooler stool?! Standing on glass-marbles, clutched by a dragon-bird or something. I´m back to the dilemma with the hairdryer. It is so beautiful in itself, I don´t want to risk ruining it. I will have to spend a day or two working up the courage.
This morning we started the day with visiting Karla Dornacker, Michelle´s mom. She´s an artist too, and illustrated 16 books. Here is her website. I like visiting other artists´studios. It´s inspiring to see creative environments.
Here is a close-up of her Arting-bag.
Deidra came over to join us in our arting today and she brought a project with her. Here are the first steps. Dying cotton muslin with walnut crystals.
It´s all ready dyed, but needs drying. On to the next project. We´ll get back to this one. This is truly going to be the week of a thousand projects!
Here is Deirdra painting on her finished dyed muslin-page.
Lulu joined us too. She brought her dolls to paint.
Here are some of my treasures, I´m trying to piece it all together into a new mask. An old slide-viewer, a button, a wooden ornament. You don´t need much to make a face.
Working on the eye that will go behind the glass in the slide-viewer. Apoxie clay with layers of acrylic paint. We´ll see how this will turn out!

Hi friend. I miss our late nights “arting” + I love your blog. I love to see other studios. I want to see yours when you get home. your journal pages + art are amazing. So great to meet you. I know I’ll see you again.
Oh how much fun!
