As part of a gift to my god-son, I wanted to give him a reflector. You know one of those little things that reflects light, so if you´re out in the dark, the headlights of a car will see you in time, and NOT hit you. Anyway, these little life-savers are apparently not in fashion anymore, because none of the local shops had this old-fashioned type, that you can just pin on your clothes.
What to do? What to do?
Make one, of course!
I got some reflector-band at my local fabric-shop… (and doubled the fabric, face out)
drew a (relatively cute) motif,
machine-embroidered the face onto the fabric. Cut off excess fabric after you´re done sewing.
Add a “third” eye…
I used waxed linen thread, as that is pretty much the strongest option there is of natural fibers. I didn´t want the thread to be to long, it´s easier to get tangled and lose it for a little boy.
Yey! What a great gift for a little boy! And super-cute!
Love this little guy. How do you comeup with this stuff? so cute…
adorable! and did you freehand the machine stitching?
