Afghan curtain

I have a ton of un-finished projects lying around, and am trying to finish some of them. Today´s side-project is finishing my bedroom-curtains.

The embroidered part I got at the main bazaar in Istanbul in 2006, when I was there on summer-holiday. (Highly recommended!) They are antique textiles, originally made to decorate doorways, if I´m not mistaken. And today, I finally I added the golden silk, to make them into proper curtains.

One down, still incredibly many to go…

(The big jewelry-thing hanging in front of them is also vintage-something from Afghanistan, I think they used it to decorate horses with. I´ve got a lot of strange stuff in my house…)

  1. This looks beautiful! I want to see it when it’sdone. It feels so good to finish projects!

  2. Woa Janne, but your strange stuff is good stuff. You are very lucky living in such a vibrant hemisphere
