Walk-in-workshop in graphics

Part of the cultural week at our local Culture-house, was a walk-in wokshop in lino-cutting last night. Too tired to prepare properly, I just grabbed a photo a went for it. I had a hunch I was taking a chance on a portrait with such fine lines in a small piece of linoleum, about 10×15 cm.

This was a new and “improved” version of the linoleum, which meant that it was softer to cut, but harder to get fine lines in it. It just smoldered away. But then again, it could be that the knife wasn´t optimally sharp.

From a distance I guess they look ok, but a slightly stronger control over the knife and the finer details would have been even nicer.

Tonight I´m off to an evening of jazz and literature. :-) Culture is fun!

  1. From a non-professional’s view, I think your print looked great!
I loved the workshop, thanks for drawing my attention to it!

  2. You´re too quick for me! I´ve hardly been online the past days. Too much culture going on!
