silk skirt

My finishing project Thursday was a silk skirt that´s been lying around for at least six years waiting for me to get a zipper in and hem it. Well, now it´s done. All hand-sewing today, to get it just perfect. I like to hand-sew every now and then. And in any case, it´s easier to listen to my Global Geopolitics lecture on iTunes´Open University, Stanford. It´s so interesting! Highly recommended! Anyway. The skirt.

A lovely golden yellow dupion silk with several colors in the weave.

Ankled  length.

This is the vest I´d already sewn years ago, but not really worn yet. The buttons are made with the same silk fabric. So are the button-holders (what would I call that? anyone?) The shape is a bit different in real life, as it is now on a 1900-bust, and I don´t have an hour-glass figure 😉

I really like the details around the neckline. The whole thing is lined with soft greyish-green sand-washed satin-silk, and will be very comfortable to wear.

  1. Heisann!

Tusen takk for hilsenen.

  2. Ah… roulo… yes, I remember now. That´s the French-Norwegian word. Is it the same in English?
