One World One Heart

It´s time for the big One World One Heart blog-visit-event. Last year I met some lovely people through OWOH which I still am in blog-contact with :-) Hopefully I´ll make some new friends this year. For those of you who´ve never heart of One World One Heart, it gives all those who blog a chance to meet and mingle and form connections with those they may not have otherwise met from all over the world. (For more information, click on the picture above.)

So without further ado, let me introduce myself and my blog:

Welcome to Spindelmaker!

I am a full time artist and theatre-designer and a teacher. (Actually that adds up to more than full time :-)) I work a lot with textiles, photo-collage, graphic design and painting; sometimes small-scale, sometimes big, just to mention some of the materials and techniques I work with. If you want to see more of what I create, please feel free to browse around on my site. On top of the page you should see pages like art and costumes. Clicking on these will take you to some of my commission art-work and shows I´ve worked with.

I love ARTING, and my blog is one of my hobbies. I try to make it an inspiring place with my different creative expressions and projects, some DIYs, some free stuff and some inspiration from other artists. Every 1st of the month I have a Celebrate-post, which is kind of a everyday advent-calender, where the idea simply is to celebrate life!

I live in Norway, but love traveling and meeting new people and places. I am so pleased to meet you, I hope you leave  a comment, so I can visit you too!

As I said, I love ARTING, or creating, and try to learn at least one new technique a year. This year (since the last OWOH) I´ve learned how to bind books, so I thought maybe my hostess goody give-away gift should be a little handmade book. It´s actually a Christmas ornament, but that´s ok, isn´t it? It´s made with handmade paper, bound in real birch-bark, and written inside is the lyrics to Silent Night in Norwegian. Minimalistic and natural; typical Scandinavian design, in other words :-)

  76. What a lovely piece of art! Love the natural bark and the fact that it is written in Norwegian. My grandmother was pure Norwegian, but unfortunately I never picked up the language. There are plenty of times I wanted to find out more of the ancestory, but she passed away and much is lost now.
