The Fiddler moves in!

Fiddler on the roof is next on the agenda. With opening night already the coming Thursday, we don´t really have more time than necessary to get everything ready.

We´ve moved onto the stage…

… and ( the orchestra) into the grave.

In a short five hours we managed to screw the big wooden parts of the set together, paint a couple of side-curtains and hang a couple more of them up.

Nine of the carpenter-students worked intensively on putting the big landscape-silhouette together. It´s so exhilarating to see it come alive. What was once a small photoshopped landscape and a tiny model  15 cm high, was now 4 meters high, and 14 meters long… I´m allowed to be excited about that, right?!

An enthusiastic team of 17 students stamped their way through two of the side-curtains in no time! They are so great, singing songs from the chorus as they work. (I tried to film it, but am not sure how to upload it on my site. We´ll have to see when I have the time to learn that one…)

We still have three to go, so there will be work tomorrow too :-)

And last but not least, meet my lovely multi-talented theatre-friend, Ida. She´s my assistant this week, and boy do I need it. She´s a master in physical theatre, specialized as a clown(!) from Del Arte in California. In between jobs in her busy schedule, I was lucky enough to have her help me this week. Hallelujah!
