Costumes, concert, crime and charms

Let me start with the charms first. I finally finished my bracelet I started making in Lisa Call´s class at Art & Soul. She showed me how to work with precious metal clay, and I was truly fascinated how clay can turn into real silver! Like true alchemy! My charms aren´t all that exciting, but the bracelet didn´t turn out so bad once I added some of my beads to it. The big one in the middle is enameled, made in Barbara Lewis´ class. The little blue glass-bead I made with my glass-arting-buddy Marianne. I added some pearls as well, to give it a touch of color.

Costumes? I had to attend to a costume-crisis in Haugesund where one of the actors was sick, and another one had to take her part. None of the costumes fit, so I drove down in between other meetings and made a new, green dress. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of the finished dress. Bummer. Nothing to show. I have to admit, I´m slightly disappointed I wasn´t  picked up by a helicopter though. 😉 After all, it was a crisis, right?!

A high-light this weekend was the Jean Michel Jarre concert in Bergen. I listened a lot to his music in the mid-80s, and haven´t really heard of lot of it since then. So it was a fun trip down memory-lane. I guess he might be most famous for his playing with light. Litterarly. When he breaks the lazer-beam, it makes a sound. And that is how he makes some of his music. He´s made a lot of other weird instruments too, so as I said, it was quite good fun to experience his music, to hear it, see it, and feel it.

The rest of the weekend, I´ve just relaxed, being creative without a rush, just for the fun of it. I started a few Christmas-presents, did a couple of costume-designs, started working on my Christmas-ornament for the exchange, doodled in my journal… Just chilling. And listening to a very good crime audio-book by Jo Nesbø. You should really check out this Norwegian author, probably the best crime-author in Norway. I think he´s translated into English, and is on the lists in the Us with “The Snowman”. Chilling crime!

  1. Hey Jean Michael is still alive? Wow 🙂 I guess it’s the fun of being married to Charlotte Rampling? Or maybe all the Oxygen I think I’d go for the first reason …. Thank you for your hair secrets. I have passed them onto Ralph, but he is very sensitive and I think he is sulking out in the yard in the chook shed….

Your costumes in the next post are wonderful. So what do you do in your ‘spare’ time. :)? See you, it’s time for me to turn over and get my back suntanned – oh it is so warm here, 😉 but that sand and seeweed and ocean water cane be a nuisance sometimes . For example, it plays havoc with one’s spelling. 🙂
