Brage Suppliers new supply-ship is called Brage Trader. It´s been built in India, and I just sent down three big wooden boxes of art to decorate the ship. The Christening of the ship is today, so I thought you might want a peek of the art that will be onboard.
The ship-owner wanted pictures based on old photos from Bergen. Starting with the three pictures in the mess, all from the fish-market.
“Flat fish? Round fish?” 50×70 cm
“You say potaTO – I say po-TA-to” 50×70 cm
“Forget-me-nots and posies, sunflowers and roses” 50 x 70 cm
In one of the day-rooms you´ll find these guys relaxing on the quay in between the dried fish.
“Fishy business” 50 x 70 cm
The posh ladies in Strandgaten keep them company.
“A mid-day stroll along the street” 50 x 70 cm
Moving into the next day-room.
“The fjord-ferry-festival” 50 x 70 cm (which isn´t a festival at all, just an ordinary day with lots of ferries gathering at the same tine before departure.)
“Bleketrappen” 50 x 70 cm
This is typical Bergen, steep and narrow. The original photo is close to 100 years old. I just walk by this place a month ago, and it looks almost exactly the same today.
“Wulfsgården” 50 x 70 cm
Looking across the bay towards Laksefjord, these kids are playing in a typical Bergen-“smau” (narrow lane)
Moving on to the Captain´s cabin:
“Seahouses in Nordnes Toldbodkai” 50 x 70 cm
“The old mates on the quay” 50 x 70 cm
Another narrow “smau”- picture in the chief´s cabin:
“Bergen smau” 50 x 70 cm
An finally in the gym:
“The wrong day for wearing purple” 50×140 cm
These sporty young girl from the very beginning of the last century are getting ready to excersize in their practical gym-gear. Too bad one of the didn´t get the message the Tuesday was blue, Wednesday was purple! 😉
Good luck to Brage Trader, may she sail the seven seas with pride!
They take my breath away, as usual! Beautiful.
These are great photos and I really like the color tone.
Thank you so much, Gail and Sid!
I really appreciate that! 🙂
