Wow! I´ve learned so much today! Visiting a local company that specializes in making rotated metal pieces for the offshore industry. 
This is Torleiv showing me a big fire-hydrant, especially made for helicopter-decks. By mixing 1% of foam into the water, you can very efficiently put out oil-fires. I think they are the only company in the world making this.
Some parts partly made. These are in bronze, but they also use other metals: aluminum, steel and titanium.
Doesn´t this look like beads for jewelry? They´re actually the bits put on the lathe, to form the metal. These are all worn, and are going to recycling.
And this is a sneak-peek through a safety door where a piece is being made. I notice I am in lack of a wide enough vocabulary in English here.
They use such fine instruments. This little thing can measure things down to a hundredth of a millimeter! That´s small. To have something to compare with, we measured a hair on my head. It´s one 600 dth of a millimeter…
Eventually some of today´s inspiration will evolve into a piece of art 🙂

Metal is fascinating, and a little scary as it goes from liquid to solid. Beautiful photos, and so much fun to learn new things!
