We use a lot of different types of paint in the set-department, but the paint we use most of the time is an organic paint. Bright, good colors, easy to mix, and non-toxic. The only bad thing about it is it´s limited fresh-date. We had a major cleaning and threw out a lot of paint gone bad. And when I say gone bad, I mean really gone bad. It has the foulest smell I think I´ve ever tried not to smell!

But when all the paint was renewed, we started on a brand new set-design. This included a mountain! Above you can see the beginning of half of it. The first part is made by the carpenters, and it´s on wheels (of course) so it can easily be rolled on and off the stage.

Our job is to sculpt and paint the mountain. First thing first. Add styrofoam. Lots of it. Piece it together and glue it down. It´s a pain-staking job that takes much longer time than you´d think. But next week the fun will start, when we get to shape the mountain for real. I am very much looking forward to it, I know it includes some first-time-evers for me 🙂
