This week I learned how to make a plaster cast form. You can make a copy of just about anything, but my goal was to make goat-horns.
The brown ones are originals, the green ones are free-sculpted copies.
Mixing the plaster, first layer is quite liquid and just thrown onto the shape. Followed by a thicker layer, shaped by hand.
First half is done, the security barges removed. The surface is now being brushed with vaseline, so the other half won´t stick, but loosen.
Won´t let a week go by without making a mountain, it seems. This big, flat one will be at the back of the deck.
And the talking of mountains… I´ve been up in a lift the past couple of days, trying to shape a 5 meters high tree from textile (around a metal base. Next week, we´ll know how both the horns and the tree will turn out.
And I have to mention a creative evening with my artist-friend Vibeke. She has a lovely little studio in her garden, and we spent the night painting and talking. Such a great evening! 🙂
