At the end of a year, I usually think back and look at some of the things that has happened that year. It is to once again appreciate the experiences I´ve had, to think things over, and prepare for the coming year. Some good things, some sad, some valuable, some everyday-like, but all valuable in the making of a complete life. I want to share some of 2013 with you.
2013 has been a year filled with one highlight after the other. Here´s a little over-view of some of them (click on any picture for more onto/pics):
January was filled with designs and ARTing for upcoming projects. I also did a photo-shoot for a local band, for their first CD. On a more personal level, I think my visit to Israel and Palestine was a rare and valued experience.
February was a new month of making. Below is a textile wallhanging for a ship.
In March I attended a 2-week course in textile dyeing in the College of Visual Arts. One of the things I learned was how to make a silk-screen.
April was all about theatre-design for “Kim plays” at Haugesund Theatre. Taking the summer-holiday early, visiting the USA afterwards wasn´t wrong at all either 😉
Back hime, in May I opened my “HOME”-exhibition, as the 50th municipal jubilee-artist. What an honor!
June was filled with contemporary dance and “Far, far away”
In July I opened my big exhibition in Lindesnes, Norway´s most southern light-house.
In August I started working at Rogaland Theatre as a theatre-painter. I slowed down on blogging, but started making The Weekly Backstage-posts.
September´s highlight is definitely decorating Skandi Iceman with my art. Although I also have to mention the costume-workshop I had for Rogaland Teaterråd (Rogaland county´s theatre council)
November´s highlight was a metal-mosaic made for Matre´s reception:
December. I ended the year with a debut as a furniture-designer, making this reception-desk for Eidesvik.
A definite highlight was also getting an art-grant from the Norwegian Arts Council. And a third highlight this month will be making the art for Bømmelfjord´s new offices.
What a year it has been! Wow! So many firsts, so many new things & techniques I´ve learned, new challenges I´ve faced and conquered!
Now I am excited about entering 2014. I have some upcoming highlights that I already know of, and hopefully some unknown too.
Wishing you all a wonderful new and creative year!!!
What a busy and beautiful year! I wish you a Best Ever 2014!
Thanks for sharing with us the beautiful things you make! Wishing you a happy New Year!
