Third in the national treasures-series: crafts!

Wouldn´t you like a suitcase like this?! This travel-trunk is probably from the 18th century, made of wood, and completely covered in gold leather. Also called cuir de corrode. The work is impeccable despite the age, the colors still vivid. A treasure-chest in the true meaning of the word!

I believe that people have always enjoyed beauty, and including it in their everyday lives by adorning the useful objects around them. How about this fun little spoon, with the carved in faces! Also from the 18th century.

This door is from the 16th century, and adorned with house-marks. Before people could write, they´d mark their equipment and stock with their own, personal sign. This house is still in use today.

A triangular box?! Especially made for the embroidered head-dress of the Voss-bunad (national-dress). And of course adorned with the traditional rosemaling.
