Today is a sewing day. I´ve designed a pirate-costume for Pippi Longstocking´s father in the show starring in November.
First up is the shirt, simply because I had the fabric I needed already in my stack. Made with fine, white linen, and in a very big size.
Piecing it together, trying to make the inside look as good as the outside.
My students know that I don´t waste time on excessive use go pins. But sometimes it really is needed!
The shirt almost finished. It needs to be tried on, and the buttons on the arms adjusted.
A detail from the back and shoulder. The pattern is my own, and based loosely on an early 19th century fashion.
Beautiful work, always. 🙂
