A new workshop at the textile culture course, and another technique I have never tried before.
Nålebinding is an old thread-binding technique, which the vikings used. So this is one of the original techniques, long before crochet and knitting. Knitting, which is popular today, didn´t become a common knowledge/skill until the 17th century. This is what nålebinding looks like:
And here am I trying to figure it out. There are some good how-to-videos on YouTube.
This is the best I could do in an hour, to make a little string. Puh! Someday I´ll have to learn how to put it together, and make flat fabric of it. Someday. Good thing I´m not a viking, and my life depends on this…
Jeg har prøvd å bli fortrolig med nålebinding i mange år…Har ikke helt tålmodigheten siden tråden må skøtes etter hvert… Pulsvanter er supert nybegynnerprosjekt, det er lettest å nålebinde rundt. Lykke til 🙂
