You may think I´ve quit blogging, you may think I have nothing to write about. Truth is, I´m working more than normal, with so much to do at GREASE, there is no time left. And when iPhoto is totally screwed, and I can´t upload my photos, it seems like less interesting to read. Anyway. I´m still here!
Last week I upholstered the car-seats/backseats. 5 independent carseats on their own wheels. Perfect for dancing and a hassle to make. Leatherette may feel soft when you touch it, but it is hard to sew. And it sticks to the sewing machine!
Nonetheless, carseats it is! Sewing a little cord into the fabric to make it look more like a carseat than a sofa….
Luckily I had som muscle-help. While I was sewing, Motejus and Øyvind were helping me.
Mounting it all together, we were all pulling and stretching together, trying to make it as tight as possible, trying not to rip the leatherette.
5 colors, wood, foam and leatherette. It took almost 4 days to make. That is at least one day too long. But at least they are looking pretty good on stage.
The metal-work is done by students at Stord High School.
Stilig! For en spennende og variert jobb du har, Janne!
