Soft Monuments, soft moments

I visited the exhibition “Soft Monuments” at KODE in Bergen today. A big exhibition with textile works, both wallhangings and sculptures. It was so inspiring walking among these great pieces of art, and so calming. They are soft on the soul, but still leave food for thought. I just wanted to share a couple of photos, and recommend it, if you are nearby.

This sculpture, made by Marit Helen Akslen is called “Hidden Agenda”. It´s made of used shirt collars in cotton.

“Swirl” is a wall object composed of wool made by May Bente Aronsen.

Karoline and I had a fun little photo-shoot. Her hair is almost silver-white now, and even thought the photos here may look like they´re Photoshopped, they´re untouched. The colors are exactly as I saw them. Pretty cool, huh?!

I think she is stunningly beautiful anyway, but it seems the white hair captures her nordic heritage and make her look like she´s cut out of a fairytale.

But the softest moment of all, was meeting my little granddaughter Amanda. Only 5 days old, and so tired :-) It is simply unfathomable how fascinating newborns are. And how entranced one can be simply by looking at them. The facial expression changes constantly! And needless to say, she is the most beautiful little baby girl in the world! :-)
