Sunday I had a great gang of people participating in my freestyle machine-embroidered jewelry workshop. Placed inside the Salhus Trikotasjemuseum in Salhus, outside of Bergen, in the middle of their embroidery-exhibition.
At first, as always, it´s a challenge to figure out the coordination of the rhythm of pedal-speed and movement-speed of the fabric itself. But very quickly, beautiful little creations started to appear
Like these adorable fishes swimming in a school. The participant is already on to a larger piece of more fish.
My own three-dimentional experiment worked out pretty well too. I know it´s not like me to work with pastels, something must have inspired me! Anyhow, it´s sewn seperatly in three pieces, and after the water-soluable fabric has been washed out, sen together. All it needs is a little pin on the back, and it´s a blooming broach!
Way to small, but we´re all showing our creations above. In only four hours they totally mastered the art of freestyle machine embroidery on water-soluable fabric, making their own lacy jewels!
