From Da Vinci´s first sketch of a flying-machine…

… to a newer satelite orbiting earth. We´ve come a long way! Several models are decorating the hallways at ESA ESTEC´s large facility. Over 2000 people work at this site alone.

On December 13th, the premiere of Moon Village will take place all over the world. Including a live-streaming from this stage, inside ESA´s common area.

Dr. Foing was such a helpful,  sharing and inspiring host, we all left ESA with so much knowledge and motivation for our continued work with SPACE and GSO.

But making an opera about the moon village will not happen by itself. We need help from students! And Wednesday we left for an elementary school in the North of Holland, where we met a group of 50 creative and curious children.

90 minutes of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) with a creative approach to science using the WASO-methid (Write a science opera).

The children wrote, sketched and acted both questions, findings and funny stories, all connected to exploring space.

Such a pleasure to observe them (Although of course I wished I could understand Dutch!) They will keep on working with their scientific questions, and will perform at ESA (lucky kids!) in the opera.
