This is what started #bomlokunstlag´ s ocean plastic art project: one members memory from his childhood when his friends and him used the coastal line and beaches as a playground. Now it is more like a dumping ground. They used to make little wooden boats. Now we’re wading in trash. So when I found this little wooden boat yesterday, I think it’s the perfect symbol of a happy coastal childhood and an encouragement to keeping our shores clean for more happy childhoods in the future.
Another treasure found at the beach-cleaning yesterday: a Norwegian flag on a mahogony-pole. A small boat must have lost it.

Today’s beach combing find: a message in a bottle! A real treasure of a letter from Linea, 9 years old.
Did I mention I have an Instagram-account? You can find me as #spindelmaker
Whenever I am lucky enough to be near a beach, I carry a trash bag with me. Although most of the trash is . . . trash . . . it is SO much fun to find those occasional treasures! I love the symbolism of the wooden boat. 🙂
