While I am busy finishing some projects and starting new ones, why don\u00b4t you have a look at some of my all time favorite inspirational books. Since I live out here on the islands, with not all that many colleagues around, I use books as an important source of inspiration. They come in random order, as I have lots of different interests. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

True colors<\/a><\/strong> by Kathryn Bold is the book that blew me away and into the world of alternative art and art journaling. This is where I first heard of artists like Teesha Moore<\/a>, Michelle Ward<\/a>, Lynne Perella<\/a>, Claudine Hellmuth<\/a>, Anne Bagby<\/a> and Karen Michel<\/a> (three of them whom I\u00b4ve actually met and know today!)<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Journey is the destination<\/a><\/strong> by Dan Eldon is another favorite. His visual journals are fantastic! And a big-time inspiration for taking pictures and living life to the fullest! I will never get tired of this book! This is actually a must-buy! You just have to.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Fashion<\/a><\/strong>: a history from the 18th to the 20th century<\/a> by the Kyoto Costume Institute is a must for anyone who is curious about the development in fashion the past couple of centuries.<\/p>\n

(side-tip: check out TASCHEN<\/a>-books, they have the most amazing art-books at really low prices)<\/p>\n

And a couple of books from my past:<\/p>\n

Fiberarts design book 3-4-5-6<\/a> These books were some of my favorites while in teachers college, studying textiles. I\u00b4m afraid they might be a bit hard to get hold of today. It\u00b4s been a while since I had a look at them last, but I think some of the pieces presented in here, should still be good. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Costume-makers Art<\/a> <\/strong>by Thom Boswell was another one of those \u201cOooo-I-have-to-become-a\u2026\u201d (in this case costume-designer) experiences. I\u00b4m not sure if it rocks my world quite as hard today, but since it played a significant role in my choice of path, I thought it should make the list.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Decorating Book<\/a><\/strong> by Kevin McCloud . Before he made the BBC-programme \u201cGrand Designs\u201d, he wrote this great book, filled with practical interior painting techniques. Me like! And still use it !<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There are still more books on my favorites-of-favorites, so I will have to make another post on books.<\/p>\n
