Probably not an obvious combination, but in Haugesund they thought it was a splendid idea <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/spindelmaker.bluesystems.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/simple-smile-136.png\" alt=\":-)\" class=\"wp-smiley\" style=\"height: 1em; max-height: 1em;\"\/> Probably because the city is \u201cbuilt\u201d on herring. And now every year there is a jazz festival. A traditional New Orleans jazz festival. Well, there\u00b4s lots of other music too.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12130\" title=\"_MG_9031\" src=\"https:\/\/spindelmaker.bluesystems.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/MG_9031.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"224\"><\/p>\n<p>So today\u00b4s assignment was to dress up this lovely bouquet of young girls as charleston-dancers for the main parade. They are all in Amanda, the musical, and were handing out leaflets for the show.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12133\" title=\"web-banner-Amanda-590x150\" src=\"https:\/\/spindelmaker.bluesystems.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/web-banner-Amanda-590x150-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"114\"><\/p>\n<p>This is my next big show, it\u00b4s opening October 19th.<\/p>\n<p>Back to the jazz.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12131\" title=\"_MG_9032\" src=\"https:\/\/spindelmaker.bluesystems.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/MG_9032.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"518\"><\/p>\n<p>I am quite a fan of traditional New Orleans jazz. Probably because I\u00b4ve lived in New Orleans when I was a kid, and the music brings back some really good memories.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12132\" title=\"_MG_9038\" src=\"https:\/\/spindelmaker.bluesystems.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/MG_9038.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"240\"><\/p>\n<p>A yes, the colorful herrings. In a sea of people!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12134\" title=\"_MG_9042\" src=\"https:\/\/spindelmaker.bluesystems.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/MG_9042.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\"><\/p>\n<p>I wasn\u00b4t really supposed to join in, but did anyway. I decided that my 3 years as a \u201cNew Orleansean\u201d qualified me. And what fun! Bands in front of us, a choir behind us, loads of people along the route, and we\u00b4re all dancing\/playing\/singing to \u201cOh when the saints\u201d. Funfunfun! This made me so happy today!<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and the costumes? I made those in 2001 for Jesus Christ Superstar, and they are not going to be used in this fall.
