This time I wanted to try something a little different. The past years I\u00b4ve made my books from scratch, but this time I wanted the cover to be a recycled book cover. I do find some nice old books at the regional Salvation Army-store, and there I found this Victor Hugo\u00b4s book about the Notre Dame Church in Paris.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15785\" title=\"_MG_2623\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/MG_2623.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"532\"><\/p>\n<p>I took out the book itself (printed in 1910) and made the spine stronger by gluing down an embroidered silk ribbon.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15789\" title=\"_MG_2618\" src=\"https:\/\/spindelmaker.bluesystems.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/MG_2618.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"167\"><\/p>\n<p>Then I painted all the pages, folded them into an accordion, and glued down the first page onto the inside front cover. So now the book had a subtle cover, and a colorful surprise inside! \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15786\" title=\"_MG_2622\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/MG_2622.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\"><\/p>\n<p>Adding the dates\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15788\" title=\"_MG_2614\" src=\"https:\/\/spindelmaker.bluesystems.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/MG_2614.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"198\"><\/p>\n<p>The first 14 days of January are all set to go! I am sometimes asked why I use my time on doing things like this. And the answer is, that it\u00b4s quite meditating. I enjoy surrounding myself with color, and adding color to my everyday makes me happy. But the time I spend actually making it, like I did the other night, it\u00b4s like a meditation. I am calm and creative at the same time, with plenty of time to think about creative challenges.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15787\" title=\"Untitled-1\" src=\"https:\/\/spindelmaker.bluesystems.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Untitled-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"301\"><\/p>\n<p>The bits and pieces here are partly copies of my own work, cut-outs from magazines, journal-sheets from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teeshamoore.com\/\">Teesha Moore<\/a>, MOO-cards from friends, stamps, and so on. And additonal Caran D\u00b4Arche crayoning.
