Which to me means creating and spending time with friends. Preferably both at the same time <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/spindelmaker.bluesystems.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/simple-smile-102.png\" alt=\":-)\" class=\"wp-smiley\" style=\"height: 1em; max-height: 1em;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>While waiting for my creative friends to come over, I decided to start with my<a href=\"http:\/\/teeshascircus.blogspot.com\/2009\/10\/how-to-16-page-journal.html\"> Teesha-journal<\/a>, so I could cross one more thing of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/41-things-to-do-before-i-turn-42\/\">my 41-things-list.<\/a>&amp;nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/IMG_8129.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5287\" title=\"IMG_8129\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/IMG_8129.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"259\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Arches watercolor paper. From one sheet, you can make a 16-pages journal.&amp;nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/IMG_8130.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5288\" title=\"IMG_8130\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/IMG_8130.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"265\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tearing and folding like above. You should really watch <a href=\"http:\/\/teeshascircus.blogspot.com\/2009\/10\/how-to-16-page-journal.html\">Teesha\u00b4s video<\/a> to see the whole process.&amp;nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/IMG_8131.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5289\" title=\"IMG_8131\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/IMG_8131.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"252\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Normally I\u00b4d use watered down or liquid acrylics, but I wanted to try using fabric paint this time. The fabric-paint is more translucent, and it won\u00b4t be as dark as the acrylics. Using sponges to spread the colors instead of brushes gives a much more even surface.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/IMG_8132.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5290\" title=\"IMG_8132\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/IMG_8132.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"257\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The spine is sewn down with the sewing-machine. I didn\u00b4t have the proper equipment for doing it by hand, and the machine was just standing there anyway\u2026 Quick and easy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/IMG_8133.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5291\" title=\"IMG_8133\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/IMG_8133.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"213\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Fun part! Finding scraps, bits and pieces from magazines, tickets &amp; maps, brochures and so on. cutting, piecing and gluing it all down. I use wall-paper-glue, but I\u00b4m sure there are lots of other options.&amp;nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/IMG_8163.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5297\" title=\"IMG_8163\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/IMG_8163.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"287\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I muted the colors of the pages, to fit the theme \u00b4m heading for. The collage starts with \u201cframing\u201d the pages, and this is how far I got before\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2026 the doorbell rang.&amp;nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/IMG_8136.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5292\" title=\"IMG_8136\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/IMG_8136.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"176\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I got a beautiful bouquet of thistles. Roses and tulips and gerberas are nice, but the beauty of thistles can totally match it\u00b4s more popular relatives.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/IMG_8139.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5293\" title=\"IMG_8139\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/IMG_8139.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"238\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Nina is my old neighbor, and we\u00b4ve spent many a creative night together. She is just as eager as me. Back in the days when I was teaching and when we had to go to work the next day, and I need to sleep, she would just continue on her project, while I would go to bed. I like informal friends like that!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/IMG_8150.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5294\" title=\"IMG_8150\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/IMG_8150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"250\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Her sister Lisa joined us last night, and this is her first go at the overlock-machine.
