I am taking some time off this weekend, as we have a lot of visitors, family and friends gathering.\u00c2&nbsp;So I\u00b4ll show you some of the things I made last year.<\/p>\n

Last January I went to Jaipur, India on a workshop. In Selvedge<\/a> I found an interesting opportunity. \u00c2&nbsp;Jaipur Heritage Foundation<\/a> hosted seven different workshops, and joined the \u201cSparkling surfaces\u201d with the English artist Andrew Logan.\u00c2&nbsp;<\/a>\u00c2&nbsp;(In addition to being an artist, he is known for hosting the annual alternative Miss \u00c2&nbsp;World.)<\/p>\n

I find this a very good way of traveling and seeing the world, especially if one travels alone. I got to meet other kindered spirits, was part of a safe program and got to see parts o India I never would of seen otherwise.\u00c2&nbsp;<\/p>\n

Anyway. After a five day workshop, I made six broaches (presented in an earlier post)<\/a>, the mirror below, and when I still had some time left, I made the cover for my travel-journal. The mirror was the main piece though.\u00c2&nbsp;<\/p>\n

Mounted on a wooden frame, I used colored mirror, glass- and plastic beads and glitter. All glued down with Epoxy. it\u00b4s hard to get a good photo of the mirror, because of reflection (!) and I think it looks better live. But again, you get the idea. It is a totally-over-the-top-fairy-tale-evil-stepmother mirror. And for someone as theatrical as me, that works just fine \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

The book-cover for my journal is even more over-the-top. I exaggerated as much as I possibly could. (As you can see) Using all the scrap beads I had left, throwing in some silver-leaf, just to try that out as well. The dull grey areas here, are clear mirror.\u00c2&nbsp; \"india-journal\"<\/p>\n

And here are the pages from inside the journal. Again trying to keep everything as Indian as I could. I was very inspired by the hot colors in Jaipur, also called the pink city. After a week in Jaipur, my boyfriend joined me and we traveled for another two weeks all around Rajastan. It was such an amazing tour. Living in the most beautiful palaces, seeing markets and temples and meeting people. \u00c2&nbsp;Learning about the history, the religions, the ways of life from great guides. All arranged by TransIndus<\/a>, a travel-company in London. It was just\u2026 amazing.\u00c2&nbsp;<\/p>\n
