In number 34 on my 41-list<\/a>, I challenge myself to make something of kimono-silk. and in #16, I declare I want to make curtains for Karoline\u00b4s room. Hm. Two in one?<\/p>\n

This fall I received a treasure of a package from Japan (via eBay) with vintage kimono silk. Among them was this 3 meter long blushing pink silk. It\u00b4s only about 30 cm wide, but I thought it might work good as a curtain-panel for Karoline\u00b4s room. The silk itself is plain, no patterns, no prints, no other colors. So I thought I wanted to add slightly to the oriental feel, and found my bamboo-fun-foam-stamp and golden paint.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I use acrylic paint on the stamp. It\u00b4s not the proper thing for fabric, it becomes too stiff. But since this is a curtain, and not a wearable, it should be ok, even an advantage.<\/p>\n

Now I know when you have an exquisite piece of vintage silk fabric, the one thing you DON\u00b4T do is experiment\u2026.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

So do as I say, not as I do. I couldn\u00b4t resist.&nbsp;I just had to try adding gold-leaf. I know this might not work out at all, but in that case, I\u00b4ll just make it into pillows instead of a curtain. Sometimes when you try, you fail. But sometimes, you actually win too! \ud83d\ude42 So sometimes I do take chances\u2026.<\/p>\n

Come to think of it. Not only sometimes. Quite a lot of times\u2026.<\/p>\n

Ok. Done with the printing. and the gold-leaf-experiment. Gold-leaf is fun!<\/p>\n

I made a hem top and bottom, hung it up, and Voil\u00e1!&nbsp;The pink color changes in all types of light. And the gold-leaf seems very dark here. And yes, that is a tomato-plant.<\/p>\n

I think it\u00b4s looking pretty cool. I might need something more though, so stay tuned.<\/p>\n
