I thought I\u00b4d start by making a model or model-box of a B-stage. (Norwegian standard). So I took lots of measurements of the stage at my local culture-house, which happens to have a B-stage and got the materials.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-8621\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/?attachment_id=8621\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8621\" title=\"IMG_4344\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/IMG_4344.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"280\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I would have loved to make the box myself, but with deadlines dropping like flies in winter, I asked my handy Dad for a helping hand. He made the actual box for me (whoever said retirement was for relaxing?!)<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-8622\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/?attachment_id=8622\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8622\" title=\"IMG_4400\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/IMG_4400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"285\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So now I\u00b4ve been measuring in the sight-lines, drilling holes for all the stands for lights and curtains and set. The good news, for me, is that I\u00b4ll be using it at least a couple of times in the near future. The next month at teacher\u00b4s college, while teaching theatre-design. And in March when I have the set-design for \u201cFiddler on the Roof\u201d! It\u00b4ll be in a different theatre, but the same standard stage. (I\u00b4ll tell you more about that later. Very excited about it!) (Hm. I need to iron that velvet in the back there)<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-8623\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/?attachment_id=8623\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8623\" title=\"IMG_4403\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/IMG_4403.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"283\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The white back-wall is in place. This is used for cinemas, but can also be used for light-design or back-drop pictures used as part of a set-design. The measurements for the box is a standard 1:25. Which is very practical.
