BUT this is too good a thing to forget!<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-9519\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/?attachment_id=9519\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9519\" title=\"_MG_1388\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/MG_1388.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"266\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The inside is all cotton. The downside with the snakeskin is that it doesn\u00b4t take any heat at all. Try to take it close to an iron, and it crumbles from fear. On the other hand, it probably won\u00b4t be much of a problem if you spill something on it, you can just wipe it right off!<\/p>\n<p>I used the simplified pattern of ca 1850. I\u00b4ve used this pattern on a lot of other corsets. Amongst all the corsets for the \u201clovely ladies\u201d in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/les-miserables\/\">Les Miserables 2003-2004<\/a>. Sewing it this time, in snakeskin, felt a bit like sewing in paper\u2026<\/p>\n<p>I had sewn the different pieces together, now the boning had to be sewn into place.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-9521\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/?attachment_id=9521\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9521\" title=\"_MG_1392\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/MG_1392.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"228\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The main piece of boning is in the front and made of metal. The brilliant part is that it has it\u00b4s own little button-system, so you don\u00b4t have to lace yourself up more than once. When the lacing is perfect, you can get in and out of the corset on your own.<\/p>\n<p>In the bodice itself I use a solid plastic boning I imported from Germany. I prefer the solid one to the woven plastic string boning you get here in Norway. It always somehow finds a way out of the corset and deep into your skin.<\/p>\n<p>I also made the lining on a bias-tape-idea, but not cut on the bias at all, as the snake-skin is as elastic (or not) either way you put it. I am glad that the whole corset is all snake-skin, and not having to mix in other materials top and bottom.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-9522\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/?attachment_id=9522\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9522\" title=\"_MG_1397\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/MG_1397.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"187\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The snake-skin is dyed petrol-blue, and the many different shades just make me happy, I think they\u00b4re so beautiful!<\/p>\n<p>Now tell me this isn\u00b4t a sexy curve!<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-9520\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/?attachment_id=9520\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9520\" title=\"_MG_1391\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/MG_1391.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"238\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And here it is! On a stand for now, but I think I\u00b4ll have to wear this for New year\u00b4s eve.
