This is her birch from the garden that instead of ending up as fire-wood, turned into a jewelry-ladder. Anyone who\u00b4s ever been a scout recognizes the knots and can see that this is an easy-make. Practical, natural and beautiful.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10026\" title=\"_MG_1673\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/MG_16732.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"525\"><\/p>\n<p>Nina\u00b4s doilies made into table-runner. Looks good, doesn\u00b4t it?!<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-10023\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/?attachment_id=10023\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10023\" title=\"_MG_1716\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/MG_1716.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"512\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I experimented a bit with mine, throwing them in the washer with some turquoise dye. however they turned out way too light, almost baby-blue, so I\u00b4ll dye them again with a darker dye.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-10023\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/?attachment_id=10023\"><\/a><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-10024\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/?attachment_id=10024\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10024\" title=\"_MG_1711\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/MG_1711.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"252\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Some of Nina\u00b4s old necklaces and charms given to her for her Christening, her confirmation and birthdays, were just fading away in her jewelry-box. So she put them all together, joined with two bracelets, and she\u00b4s got a new statement piece of jewelry, loaded with memories and reminders of people who love her.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-10045\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/?attachment_id=10045\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10045\" title=\"_MG_1728_2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/MG_1728_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"135\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here is my own bracelet. Part of it is made from older charms and pendants, others I\u00b4ve made from some of all my beads. There is an Egyptian beatle in here, a fairy I got as a trade at Artfest, turquoises I bought at a market in Beijing, an old earring from the 80s, freshwater pearls, all on a mother-of-pearl bracelet I got from my Dad when he got back from Mexico, some time during the 70s.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-10027\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/?attachment_id=10027\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10027\" title=\"_MG_1685\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/MG_1685.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"251\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A couple of my thrifted treasures. I haven\u00b4t decided if I want to use the old key for the cover of a book or in a necklace yet. I guess we\u00b4ll just see what comes first.
