Finally, I am proud to present Fiddler on the Roof!<\/p>\n

For this production at Stord High School, music department, I was hired in to do all the visuals, including the set-design, the costumes, the props, the poster and &nbsp;designing the make-up.<\/p>\n

Here is the finished set-design. The backdrop, which I\u00b4ve told you about on several previous occasions, is 70 square meters. The landscape-silhouette (a bit difficult to see in this picture) is between 2 and 4 meters high, and 14 meters long, and is built by the carpenter-class at the high-school.<\/p>\n

I worked with the lighting-designer to make sure the lights would be warm, and I think he did an excellent job. In this picture you can see it too well except on one of the angel\u00b4s halos, that I\u00b4ve used gold-leaf in some places. The most important being the all-seeing God\u00b4s eye.<\/p>\n

Back to the show itself. Meet Tevje, the milk-man, played by Arne Kvarven. Just turned 19, and has the most beautiful musical-barytone voice. I\u00b4m looking forward to following his career, he\u00b4s gonna make it, that\u00b4s for sure!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The side-panels are painted textile, partly by me, but mainly stamped by the students. I made a hebrew alphabet, that they used for stamping the text. They are meant to resemble pages from the Torah.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Here is Tevje\u00b4s wife, Golde, played by Susanne Nesse. The quality of the singing, both solos and choir is generally very high, no one falls through, and the show is just plain old good!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Here is Tevje with one of his daughters at the train-station.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Perchek, played by Joakim Vikanes, teaching the young girls how employers exploit their workers.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The costumes are partly the students own, partly rented from a local theatre. I designed the for Les Miserables years ago, so even though it\u00b4s not made especially for this show, a lot of it is still my work.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

One of my favorite figures in the show, the taylor Motel Kamzeu. He just makes me smile with his awquardnes and excitement. Excellent acting!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

No musical without dance, beautiful women and loud men, right?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The dancing russians in the bar. Their shirts are the main new costume-production for the show. I cut them, and the students (or their moms?) sewed them.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Another costume made for this show is the very long night-gown for Frauma Sara in the nightmare-scene.<\/p>\n

The friendly police-officer with the questionable compliments\u2026<\/p>\n

(This is where my camera decides to run out of battery, so I\u00b4ll have to take more pictures on Saturday.)<\/em><\/p>\n
