The fear of the big white! You know you have to fill it, but where do you start`What if you do something wrong? Will you ruin the whole picture? When I paint, I only get comfortable with the painting after there\u00b4s hardly any white left on the canvas. (Luckily <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brianwallace.no\/english\/index_english.htm\">Brian Wallace<\/a> thought me the trick of completely washing the canvas in reds. It made my painting-life much easier.)<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-11160\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/?attachment_id=11160\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"_MG_4191\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/MG_4191.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"428\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/allendesigns.typepad.com\/blog\/\"><em>Michelle\u00b4s<\/em><\/a><em> clock and box is in.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Anyway. I think this must be a related reason to why I don\u00b4t really like white rooms. They feel unfinished, in a way. It\u00b4s difficult for me to be creative in a white room, because it drains energy from me, instead of inspire me. (Hm. So there is the answer to why I live in such a colorful house)<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-11162\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/?attachment_id=11162\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"_MG_4194\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/MG_4194.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>The Arting-essential chocolate is in.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Today I finally moved into my new office. My new, white-walled office. In order for me to quickly get working in there, I needed some color fast! <strong>Breaking down all the white around me.<\/strong> Since I\u00b4m renting, I can\u00b4t paint the walls. So the quick\u00b4n easy answer is: textiles!<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-11158\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/?attachment_id=11158\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11158\" title=\"_MG_4164\" src=\"https:\/\/spindelmaker.bluesystems.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/MG_4164.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"288\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>First thing\u00b4s first. I got a big soft board from my local wood-supplier, usually used to protect the wood. Salvaged wood-junk. Free. And perfect for a bulletin-board. Yay!<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-11159\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/?attachment_id=11159\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11159\" title=\"_MG_4166\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/MG_4166.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"243\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Covering it with silk-brocade from China. I originally bought this to reupholster my sofa. Turns out it\u00b4s very difficult to used fabric totally un-elastic for reupholstering. So, might as well use it for something else, right?<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-11161\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/?attachment_id=11161\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11161\" title=\"_MG_4193\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/MG_4193.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"525\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My new board. Big and turquoise. The green silk-sari I found at a second-hand show years ago. (This is just half-a-sari. The other half is being used as a shower-curtain\u2026)<\/p>\n<p>You can\u00b4t really see it here, but the bust-lady is wearing a huge, pink sari-skirt underneath the Arting-apron.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-11164\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/?attachment_id=11164\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11164\" title=\"_MG_4201\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spindelmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/MG_4201.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This doesn\u00b4t really look like I thought I wanted it. I would have wanted that whole wall turquoise. Or actually all four walls. But for a low-budget, low time-consuming version, you take what you\u00b4ve got, and be creative with it!
