The new year is rapidly approaching, and as I starts, I\u00b4ll be needing a new calendar book. I bought a roll of Fabriano sketching paper (150cm x 10 meters). I\u00b4ve calculated that if I make all my future calendar-books this size, I\u00b4ll have book-paper for the next 8 years or so!<\/p>\n

Anyway, first thing\u00b4s first. I painted all the pages, here lying out in rows above each other. Using a mix of fabric paint and acrylic paint. The very good reason for using fabric paint is that it doesn\u00b4t make the pages stick together while they dry.<\/p>\n

The pages after they\u00b4re folded and you can see where I sew together two of the very long sheets of paper. On this one here, I added a little piece of silk lying on my desk.<\/p>\n

In the first picture the pages look really\u2026 well, in lack of a better word: bold? And maybe childish. But once they\u00b4re folded into where they\u00b4re supposed to be, they start to look pretty yummy, I think.<\/p>\n

As for the cover. It\u00b4s all in silk. A little dupione silk where I machine embroidered my name and the year.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Front and back cover. The lilac purple is a little trial-cloth Tanja<\/a> showed me how to make, in nuno-felting. The big red-orange-purple thing in the middle is a silk-fiber I made in Portland at Art & Soul.<\/a> I added a lavender spiral in sari-silk with a yarn-thread of orange raw silk on top.<\/p>\n

As usual (when I get eager) I totally forgot the practical ribbon to hold it all together. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
