The picture for July is called \u201cMy childhood summer\u201d. My mother grew up on a farm, and I remember when I was young, how the whole family got together for the larger jobs. Sowing potatoes early summer, picking them early fall, or drying the hay for the cows in the way shown above: &amp;nbsp;to \u201chesja\u201d. Since the weather is realtively wet here, it\u00b4s difficult to dry the grass by leaving it on the ground. By building a \u201chesje\u201d with large sticks and wire in layers, with the hay hanging in stories, it dries in no time. I still remember the smell of the dry hay, when we came to pick it down, and get it into the barn. Ah, those were the days. I am SO thankful I actually got to experience this.
