The first week at my new job\u2026 well, it\u00b4s taken my attention away from blogging. I\u00b4ve painted and washed and stained and used chemicals (and I am so fascinated with my gas-mask: it works! I can\u00b4t smell a thing!).<\/p>\n

If we include today, I\u00b4ve painted two huge back-drops (like the black one in the post below), stained 3 big decks (like the one above) and the two cages above. We\u00b4re working on lots of other things too, most of them smaller objects. I painted a chalk-board of only about 6 square yards. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
So after the first week I have the following conclusions:<\/p>\n
\u2013 I\u00b4m not used to standing & walking continuously for 7 hours a day<\/p>\n
\u2013 the supervisor who just retire always played the blues. Everyone who comes in, stands and listens and says: \u201cIsn\u00b4t there any blues here?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u2013 this a dream-job! I remember one of my teen-years favorite films: Desperately Seeking Susan, which partly takes place in a very dodgy theatre\/club in New York, and I remember how I wanted to work in a place like that. Except this is a 1000 times cooler \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
\u2013 I am blessed with a whole bunch of great<\/span> colleagues! Talented and wonderful! It is truly a blessing to have someone to discuss theatre-technical things with.<\/p>\n \u2013 I\u00b4m learning the proper way of doing things like staining\u2026 not just slopping it on.<\/p>\n \u2013 gasmasks are cool!<\/p>\n \u2013 it\u00b4s nice to live in a city, where there is always something going on, and I can be a culture-consumer any day of the week: concerts, shows, exhibitions\u2026<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The first week at my new job\u2026 well, it\u00b4s taken my attention away from blogging.
